Aug 26, 2005 This is the only time I ever noticed this. In most cases you need a high TOC original. Another example Sonic Heroes ISO size is 4.37GB I use San Andreas 4.17GB as my TOC refresh and couldnt boot it. I rebuilt this image and replaced the dummy file and my ISO.

So I was wondering if there is a way to make my own 'Free MCBoot' Memory Card for the Playstation 2 because I have 2 Playstation 2 Memory Cards and only 1 PS2 Game so I dont think I'm going to be needing those Memory Cards much so I was wondering if there is a way to turn one of those PS2 Memory Cards into a 'Free MCBoot' Memory Card. I know I can just buy a 'Free MCBoot' Memory Card or a Moddef PS2 off of eBay but I dont have much money. Also my PS2 isnt Modded/Homebrewed but I want to Mod it with Free MCBoot so I can run Emulators such as SNES Station. Or should I just use my Homebrewed Nintendo Wii? The problem with my Homebrewed Wii is that its in horrible condition and I only have a Wiimote so I can only use NES, Gameboy or Atari Emulators and I cant use Emulators like SNES, N64, GENESIS, etc. Please let me know!:) Thank you, have a great day and God bless! You need a way to run homebrew to be able to run the fmcb installer to make your own card.
That means a modded system, swap magic setup, or you do a manual live disc swap that is a pain. The $8 to just buy a card already set up is worth it compared to what it would cost to get the other stuff. Once you have one card you can make others easily. I did my first one with cogswap loader and a slide card on a fat ps2, it wasn't fun.
Swap magic and modchips nowadays are more expensive than the fmcb memory card purchase is. Live swap without them is tricky.
If you have a way to hook your hard drive up to your pc, you can install fhdb, free hard drive boot which is fmcb for a hard drive, by imaging it to the drive from your pc. Then you can use ulaunchelf on it to make an fmcb card or just use the hard drive for it. It turns out I dont have a PS2 HDD but I have the PS2 Network Adapter! Where do you reccomend buying a cheap hardrive that will work on PS2? I dont think I will need over 20 GB because I just want to play ROM's like NES, SNES, GB, N64, Atari, Genesis. Also can I connect a Hardrive to my Windows 10 PC by using the PS2 Network Adapter and an Eithernet cord? Or will I have to buy a 'IDE Hardrive to USB Adapter'?
I know I can just buy a 'FreeMCBoot' Card off of eBay but I decided I am going to do FreeHDBoot instead because the PS2 looks ugly with the Memory Cards plugged in the front and if I do FreeHDBoot it will be hidden away kind of since the Hardrive/PS2 Network Adapter is at the back of the PS2. Ah okay, pretty much any ide hard drive should work it doesn't need to be a ps2 branded hard drive.
There's a compatibility list somewhere if you Google it. When you get more money it may be worth replacing the ide port in the network adapter to a sata one and running a sata hard drive as ide are very old and slower. Once you've got opl up and running if you update it to the latest versions you can also use a ps3 or ps4 wireless controller by plugging a 2 dollar Bluetooth usb into the front of the ps2. I bought a cheap ebay one. I think this will only work with ps2 games via opl however. You can find gamestar ps2 sata hard drive adapters on alli express and most likely ebay.
If your budget at the moment is ten dollars you'd be better off buying a free mcboot memory card for now and then doing everything else later when you have a bit more money. Back in the day I had a burned iso with all the snes Roms that ran on my ps2 not sure if they saved or not though. So that could be an option. I never really used my ps2 as an emulator as I always used an original xbox for thst and still do as it's pretty common knowledge that it's far superior to a ps2 for emulation. It turns out I dont have a PS2 HDD but I have the PS2 Network Adapter!
